Haunted NYC Spots on the Tour
These are some of the spookiest, most iconic stops on the Runstreet Haunted NYC Challenge map. The map includes iconic haunted places in all NYC boroughs, from Staten Island to the Bronx, with the highest concentration of spots in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Here’s a sneak preview of what’s in store:

🕯️ Washington Square Park (Manhattan)
No ghost tour of New York would be complete without visiting Washington Square Park, one of NYC’s most haunted public spaces. The picturesque park was once a potter’s field where over 20,000 bodies were buried in mass graves. Runners have reported eerie chills and mysterious orbs near the arch at night.
🏚️ House of Death — 14 W 10th Street (Manhattan)
This quiet Greenwich Village townhouse has a dark reputation as one of the most haunted houses in NYC. It’s said to be haunted by 22 different ghosts, including the spirit of literary legend Mark Twain, making it one of the hottest haunted destinations in New York City.
🌉 Brooklyn Bridge (Brooklyn/Manhattan)
Beyond its postcard views, the Brooklyn Bridge is one of the spookiest monuments in NYC. The iconic bridge carries many dark secrets, including ghost stories of workers who suffered horrific deaths during its construction. Some say their spirits still linger on the bridge’s wooden planks and under the stone arches.
🏠 455A Sackett Street — “Boy in the Wall” (Brooklyn)
Locals whisper about the ghost of a young boy whose remains were discovered inside a wall at this Gowanus brownstone. Neighbors say his restless spirit still lingers, and residents have reported strange noises coming from inside the walls, making this one of Brooklyn’s creepiest hidden haunts.
455A Sackett Street has had many strange occurences.
🏰 Litchfield Villa (Brooklyn)
This ornate Italianate mansion sits at the edge of Prospect Park, and legend has it that some of its wealthy residents never left. Footsteps and strange voices have been reported inside — perfect fuel for your haunted miles in the park.
⛪ Green-Wood Cemetery Gothic Archway (Brooklyn)
The dramatic Gothic Arch at Green-Wood Cemetery’s entrance is both beautiful and unsettling. With more than half a million burials inside the gates, including Civil War soldiers and infamous murder victims, the cemetery is a cornerstone of Brooklyn’s haunted lore.
🏛️ Morris-Jumel Mansion (Manhattan)
Built in 1765, this Washington Heights landmark is the oldest surviving house in Manhattan, and one of its most haunted. Visitors often make a residence claim, insisting that former resident Eliza Jumel still roams the halls — her ghost reportedly appears in a violet gown.
🏰 The Dakota (Manhattan)
Best known as the home of John Lennon, the Dakota is one tourist attraction that’s also infamous for ghost sightings. Residents and staff have described seeing a “friendly ghost boy” and other unexplained figures in its halls.
