The Runstreet Art Run for Chinatown that we are doing with Run for Chinatown is raising funds for the W.O.W. Project, a local mural and arts initiative.

As an NYC street art lover, I was very happy to stumble across Murals for Good on Instagram recently.

We Run on Art combines running and art to inspire runners around the world.

St. Louis street artist Jayvn Solomon paints a beautiful vision of a colorful, eco-friendly city.

“I like the idea of using art as a tool to inspire something positive in an individual or a community. Working as a mural artist and being exposed to the communities where I paint them, I've personally witnessed how immediate and uplifting the impact of public art can be.”

For "Everyday Heroes," I created a garbage man, laundromat worker and delivery person, all in a heroic style that made them look legendary. I wanted to elevate people who often get overlooked and ignored. 

I never drew realistic photos and didn't think I was good. Until my sister showed me a movie about Basquiat and he came into my life and changed my views on art in general.

I was living in NYC and traveling the world, seeing street art all over the place. I was always inspired by street art, with its unexpected presence and transformation of public space. I also love the inner dialogue that happens between me and the art when I pass by. It's both so personal and public. One day, I couldn't stand how I couldn't feel inspired, so I picked a print of one of my shoe sketches and created wheatpastes and hit the city.

My goal I guess is that people get attracted to the work, stop, and get taken away in the moment…away from their smartphone and live in the present.
