Art Run for Chinatown

  • Kam Hing Coffee Shop 118 Baxter Street New York, NY, 10013 United States (map)

Join Runstreet and Run for Chinatown for a beautiful 5K Art Run for Chinatown to see the incredible murals and art that bring Manhattan's Chinatown to life. This guided NYC 5K fun run will take you on a tour of Chinatown's street art. Ticket proceeds go toward the W.O.W. Project for adding LED lights to their newest mural in Chinatown.

Join us for a morning of fun in support of NYC's Chinatown community. We will begin and end the run at local bakery New Kam Hing. There will be a restroom available at the restaurant and a bag drop available.

The run will be led by Runstreet Art Run founder Marnie Kunz and Run for Chinatown founder Leland Yu, who will take you on an informative, colorful, and fun 5K through the beautiful streets of Chinatown, Manhattan.

The W.O.W Project is a community-based initiative that reinvents, preserves, and encourages Chinatown’s creative culture and history through arts, culture, and activism. Located inside Wing On Wo & Co., the oldest continually run family business in New York's Chinatown, The W.O.W Project was established by fifth-generation store owner, Mei Lum, to bring concerns of a rapidly changing Chinatown into a resident-led space for intergenerational dialogue and action. Since its inception in 2016, The W.O.W. Project has held numerous panel discussions about the role of art and social change, an annual storefront artist-in-residency program, film screenings showcasing Asian American women filmmakers, and several Chinatown storytelling open mic nights, that have reached over 1,000 residents.
