Art in Motion: Dona Jo Running Leggings Discount & Review

printed leggings for women

Rating: 4.8 out of 5 Stars

Pros: Brilliant colors, unique designs that you won't see everyone else wearing (unless they all read this review haha), comfortable and flattering fit, flexible, lightweight, moisture-wicking, easy sizing system, excellent customer service.

Cons: These leggings are lightweight so not ideal for extreme cold weather running. Also, they don't have pockets.

The Scoop: I'm a sucker for color. A quick perusal of the virtual halls of Runstreet will attest to this. So when I stumbled into Dona Jo leggings on Instagram, I was infatuated with the graffiti prints, art-inspired patterns and overall colorful designs from the Brazilian company.

I'm old school in that I don't order clothes online much unless I know how they will fit, so I was relieved when I got my first pair of Dona Jo leggings in the mail and they fit like a glove.

Dona Jo leggings have an easy sizing system that makes it simple for those of us who hover in between sizes - I'm sometimes a small and sometimes a medium. With the Dona Jo sizing system, there are just three sizes, with Size 1 encompassing those who normally wear pants size 0-8, Size 2 covers those who wear size 10-14 and Size 3 includes sizes 16 to 20. The wide range of sizes includes plus sizes, which is great since we runners come in all shapes and sizes;).

After stepping into my Dona Jo leggings for the first time, I already got complimented on the subway (so rare, a non-creepy subway compliment!) from a woman sitting across from me. Several wears and many compliments later, I still love the colorful, pastel paint-inspired print of the Whirlwind leggings and have gone on to fall in love with newer patterns as well, such as the graffiti-inspired Paulista leggings, pictured below.

Dona Jo leggings earned five stars in my style book, but would they hold up in the function department as well? Indeed. The lightweight, moisture-wicking running tights are comfortable and flexible, keeping you dry on the run. Also, the wide waistband fits perfectly, tight enough to stay up but not constricting. In leggings land, where finding the right fit is as hard as finding the perfect jeans, Dona Jo leggings stand out as my favorite for a flattering fit and dope style.

Fast forward to three orders later, and you could say I'm a convert.
